About me

Luca [they/them] is an illustrator, creative writer, and aspiring graphic novelist based in Denmark.Often recognised on the internet under the pseudonym "AstralRam", Luca is known to make illustrations and character designs surrounding themes of the celestial, the animalistic, and the magical.Through their personal lens — not only as a neurodivergent person, but also as a queer creative raised in an anti-queer society — and flare for cute creatures and heartfelt storytelling, Luca strives to make graphic novels and other illustrative works which may inspire introspection in its readers, as well as act as conversation starters for tabooed topics and representation for marginalised persons.One of these graphic novels is in the works as of 2023, anticipating episodic publication on the Tapas.io and Webtoon platforms in late-2024/early-2025. Until then, you may look forward to periodic updates with artworks delving into and exploring: queerness, the body, supernatural beings, mental illness, the celestial, plants, bioessentialism, witchcraft... and likely some cute animal(-esque) entities along the way as well!

Most of the pieces in my portfolio are made using Clip Studio Paint Ex - only a few of the emotes are made in PaintTool Sai.I categorise my art styles into two groups:
𖦹 "smol" is a quite toony, semi-chibi style - usually rendered with cell-shading and highlights
